Canadian wishing to move to USA

Hello,

I am a Canadian citizen (working abroad in China for the past 5 years). I am interested in finding out the exact procedure for me to acquire legal work in the USA. My uncle is an American citizen, is there some forms or anything we can fill out so I can work legally? I don't plan on moving there until next year so what can I do in the meantime to get the ball rolling? There seem to be so many different forms and I am not sure which one could apply to me as I don't need a visa to travel there. Any help in this matter would be greatly appreciated!!
