Ok here is a run down of my situation. April 20th we submitted my wife's application to get her CR status removed. Her CR expires on 23MAY08. Yesterday we get the entire application back stating that we didn't sign the application, which we didn't. I was in such a rush that I had forgot to get us to sign the application, and so now I resubmitted it yesterday as well. I tried to go to all the different carriers to send it overnight but since its a P.O. box, no one will send it. So I have to use regular priority mail, and its going to take 4 days to get to the service center, plus another week or so before anyone even looks at it.

As I stated before, her green card expires on the 23rd. So today after thinking about it, I'm freaking out, and so here I am asking questions. Whats going to happen if we don't recieve any notices before then? Will she be an illegal immigrant who overstayed her visa?

And also, she already has plans to attend a wedding party in Japan on June 11th. If she goes, will she be allowed back in the country? Will immigration freak out when she departs? Yea as you can see I'm totally freaking. This has got me so worried.

You should have sent the package overnight by usps. Secondly in what status you said shes is? is she a conditional resident? If she hasn't gotten her card by the time of your travel plan she should not leave the country. I have heard of penalties granted to people traveling without their green card in hand. In addition, yes, if she is a conditional resident and yet have not removed her condition, she is falling out of status.

I tried that, they told me that since its a P.O. Box they can't gaurentee anything, and that they couldn't ship it that way. I tried FedEx, DHL, UPS, but no one would take it.

She is a conditional status permanent resident. I am going to call USCIS this afternoon and talk with someone, but what am I going to do?

Well, when I first my sent package to the Chicago lock box, was overnight by usps. Anyways, as long a you guys have filed to remove the condition on her residency, she is in a process. She should not, however, live the country until she has her permanent card back, or the form I-797 from Texas service center, which going to give her status right after she receives it.
