  • Searching for Vermont I-130 Filers!

    Good Morning,
I am searching for people that filed I-130's at the Vermont Service Center. They have been processing the same date for 3 months. We have to come together and start writing some letters. If we don't take action, we will be waiting forever. Please join me in taking action.

I'm speaking to the lawyer for the congressman in my area tomorrow. They are going to officially contact USCIS for me on behalf of the US House of Representatives. Maybe at least I'll get some feedback this way.

I got a letter from Dick Cheney's office saying they are forwarding my query to USCIS. That was it.

Xkuger - confusion on your approval notice date

how can your approval notice be dated 06/27/2008 when it is only the 26th today? I thought I-130 for parents take longer than I-130 for spouses and we filed one of those in January 08 and have had nothing but the receipt dated 17th Feb 08 from Vermont service center. Did you file I-485 at the same time? Can anyone else please let me know if they have been approved for a spouse I-130 filed in Vermont service center after January 08. We are getting very worried now.

Applied for my parents in Vermont.

              Hello there,

I filed the petition for my parents(i-130) on Dec 28,2007 in Vermont center and I just recieved the RFE dated June 23,2008, asking for more additional documents.

Can someone help me figure out whats the right way?

1.I do have the birth certificate available, however, it does not contain my name on it. So, I submitted the affidavit made by my father, stating my name, Date and Place of Birth and that under the rules of 15 years(from the date of birth) time allowed to add the name in the birth certificate.

RFE states that Affidavit made by my father is considered self-serving, so need two more affidavits from the people who had the knowledge of the event of my birth. Its no problem providing additional affidavits, however, I have recieved only one RFE for both my father and mother petition. The notice of action includes both of their name and reciept numbers. Does that mean they need two affidavits for each of them. So, the total shud be 4 or 2? Please help me understand. If total 4,then does it have to be 4 different people or 2 people can make for father and same people make the affidavit for my mother?

              2. I also submitted the copy of the marriage certificate of my mother and father. They got married in 1978, but the marriage was registered in 2007 and the marriage certificate was issued in English. However, RFE states that USCIS acknowledges the receipt of an English Translation that appears to be the marriage certificate. It says, " Please send a photocopy of the foriegn language document that corresponds to the english translation that was submitted.". Well, actually, its not the translation, its the actual certificate(in english) issued by the Marriage Registrar Office in 2007. Can including just a letter explaining the situation will work or something else I shud consider submitting.

Please help me with this RFE and any help will be highly appreciated.

              Thanks,
              hpreet

Also I only sent ONE Affadavit, yes, I did include a letter from the register of birth and deaths saying that my birth records were lost in the floods ( this was the same one I used 7 years ago for my Greencard).
