Affidavit of support

This is a follow-up question. My fiance owed back taxes to the IRS and recently lost his job. Frustrated_a_lot suggested getting transcripts and filing tax in this case. He is also actively looking for a job at the moment. We planned to get married in July. Will the two conditions described above affect the filing of I-864 and if so can we just directly ask for a joint sponsor and is it okay if the joint sponsor lives in another state? Please help. im just answering the last part of your question.

i'm sure it doesn't matter the location of the sponsor, don't worry about that.
