Applying Green Card when on Green Card

I need to apply Green Card for my brother whose 15. I am currently on green Card i got my green card last year.Can you please tell me if it is possible ?How long does it take ?And where can i find more information.

You need to wait till you become a citizen. A GC holder cannot file for a brother/sister, AFAIK.

Check a visa bulletin and you will see who can file for who. Gain some basics about the Family-based GC.

Even after you become a citizen, the wait for a family based green card is quite long. Check the processing dates for a better idea of the likely time.

your time on green card (5 or 3 if married to a citizen) + time to process and take naturalization oath + time to submit application + wait for visa number = time to sponsor your brother

Some of the times you can minimize with good preparation, but others you will have no control over.

It is going to take 15-20 years from your brother to get a GC through you. Not counting the time it will take you to become a citizen.

And if you file an immigrant petition, all other possibilities for your brother to come to US like on a F1, Tourist visa etc are ruled out. Dual intent ones like H1, L1 etc may still be possible.
