  • One final question

I appreciate immensely the answers to my questions.

I have one final question. I am sending my pakckage to the Moscow overseas CIS service center. The reason is I live overseas (in the Republic of Moldova, in Eastern Europe, and that is the service center that has jurisdiction over my file).

Does anyone know how long it generally takes for the application to be approved? That particular service center, as all of the CIS overseas service center, is attached to the embassy itself. Is it quicker than if I had lived in the US and submitted the application to the Vermont Service Center (I had lived in New York eight years ago).

Also, I had applied almost a year ago at my local embassy for the I-130 but then two weeks later, after the local embassy had asked me for additional documentation, I write them an e-mail asking them to cancel the petition. It was suggested to me that I e-mail or call the Moscow Service Center to find out if they still have my petition, or if it has been cancelled. So far, though I have gotten no response.

If I apply again at Moscow Service Center what happens if the petition is still there, or does it cancel itself after a certain amount of time?

Looking forward to your assistance. I know this is a rather hard question.
