I am a US citizen and want to sponsor my father's green card (he lives in India). My questions:
1) I understand from reading the forum that it is preferable to use Consular Processing instead of Adjustment of Status. During Consular Processing, can he freely visit the USA, or does it preclude him from using his visitor visa to visit USA?
2) On Consular Processing, any idea how long it is taking from time of application to getting the green card?
3) Is it worthwhile to use a lawyer, to assist with the application?
4) We were unable to get a certificate of unavailability for my father's marriage certificate (although we have quite a few affidavits for the marriage from family members) - is that going to be a problem?
