So an attorney recommended that we doing direct consular filing for an immigrant visa petition for my soon to be spouse. I've heard good and bad things about it, so Im looking for some advice.
We live in Venezuela. I will be a resident of venezuela after marrying my spouse. I am looking into how long I have to reside in Venezuela before filing (ive been "living" here for a year and a half. By living I mean travelling here, staying for 3 months as a tourist, returning to the US for a month to visit my family, and then coming back to Venezuela. I have a rental residence here)
The lawyer said something about if I am able to prove that I have a contract for employment in the US (which I do because I will be working for a family owned business) that the process is expedited and he also said something about our application being sent to Mexico???
What is going on here? lol. I am confused.
