Sent I-130 application, but forgot to include fee. What happens?

Three weeks ago I sent in my I-130 petition to the Chicago drop box. Unfortunately, yesterday, while cleaning my desk, I happened upon the check that I had forgotten to include with the petition. I was really upset! How could I have forgotten something so important!?

My question is, will Department of Homeland Security Immigration send me back the entire petition, or will they just send me a letter indicating to me that they are missing the check?

Your help would be appreciated.

Most likely they send back the entire petition and you will have to file a new one.
