  • Family Sponsership

    I Just got Citizenship using which i want to sponser my family.

    Now if i sponser my father, Mother and Brothers based on immediate releationship. The fact is Father, Mother can come to US in 1 year but Brothers processing will take time.

    So In that case Can my father mother come to USA and then file the case after they become citizen?

    i.e. Can i file greencard sponsership for my brother today and later my father mother can file another sponsership for same brother (Son). Is is possible to run 2 cases for same person?

    Please advice

    Sunny

    Yes.

    Remember that your parents as LPRs can only sponsor an unmarried child.

        Look at the information on the USCIS website about sponsoring family members. LPRs can only petition unmarried children over 21; citizens can sponsor both married and unmarried children. There is a good discussion on attorney Gurfinkle's website (Immigration Updates section, I forget the year) about the issues involved.

          what "c4us" said is true. the clarification is;

          citizen parents can sponsor both unmarried and married children.

          green card parents can only sponsor unmarried children.
