Green Card Application help

Hi, i am an Englishman who is marrying an American citizen next month, we get married in England and i want to emmigrate to America to be with my wife and kids. I know we need to fill in an I-130, but can we also file a K-3, and will this enable me to live in the US any quicker? Also, i have seen lots of immigration attorneys advertised to help the process. Is there any evidence that they are actually beneficial, as it costs quite a lot of money?
