GC process for a divorcee

I'm a U.S. citizen and I was married 7 years ago to a Indian citizen, however it did not work out and he stayed in India. I withdrew the file for him to come to U.S. I never went back to India to get the divorce but i'm in India right now and have applied for the divorce. However, now I do have a boyfriend and we want to get married. He's also a Indian citizen who is in U.S. on H1, he has applied for a green card. We are both in India currently and would like to get married and apply for his green card. My questions are:

Is it true that if a U.S. citizen stays in India for 6 months and is married to a indian citizen then he/she would get a green card within 6 months?

What petition do I need to file to apply for the green card?

What documents do I need to provide from the previous marriage?
