  • Spouse greencard after citizenship

Currently my husband holds greencard and he will be eligible to file for his citizenship in July 2009, and probably assuming that he would get his citizenship by Jan 2010. I am on H1-B. I would like to know how long does it take for me to get my greencard once he gets his citizenship (based on his citizenship)? My husband has also applied for my dependant (family based greencard) in June 2005. I would like to know when approximateley can i estimate the time when i get either family based greencard or greencard after he gets his citizenship.

If you file for a GC they day after he receives his Naturalization Certificate, then it would probably take 4-8 months. Depending on your local USCIS office and the FBI name check.
