245 I along w/I-140

My friend entered into the US illegally when she was 8 months old, her father was able to file for A SSN for her, which she has currently. Then her aunt filed the 245i application for her, which she received a receipt for. She recently go married to a US Citzen about 1 year ago. She would like to start the process to become a permanent resident thru her marriage. How would she benefit from the 245i application, previously filed? Would she submit the I-140 application along with a copy of the 245i receipt approval? Would she be able to stay in the country while waiting for her green card with the 245i that will allow her to pay the penalty cost and not leave the country?
