I am a US Citizen. My wife is a legal alien resident of the US for nearly 40 years. She is from Germany. Her mother and step-father are German Citizens, currently residing in Germany. Both are in ill health with no immediate family to provide care. Me and my wife desire to bring my wife's parents here to live out their lives in our home and receive the superior medical care available here.
We can prove financial resources that will evidence our ability to support my wife's parent's residency without risk of them becoming dependent on
any government agency. I have downloaded a form I-864, "Affidavit of Support". Is it required in this situation.
Can you please direct me to where I start the process and what forms I will need. I was on the USCIS web site and tried to download a form OF-230 without success. Is this an appropriate form for this situation?
