  • processing after interview!!! need guidence

Hi i am from Pakistan. I am married to US citizen for two years and two months now. My wife filed Immigrant petition for me in 2006 and i was interviewed in JAN 2008 for an IV. At my interview they handed over me a letter stating that my case is temporarily refused and they cann't issue me that visa right away because they need to do FUTHER ADMINISTRATIVE PROCESSING with my case and the minimum time it will take is 6 weeks and there is no maximum time limit, and they will call me themselves. After 2 months me and my wife got worried and started to call them and email they. No one pick up the calls and we only got email stating don't contact us before 10 months, and their Fax # is not working i don't know why. My wife also contacted her area's congress-women but they are just saying that Probably your husband is going through a background check and it will take longer because he is from Pakistan.

Anyways, Now when 9 months i got no call, i am really kinda confused, don't know what to do so i started to google around and found this site and writing here with the hope that i will get a better answer that whats going on with my case ( whether there is something that i should worry about or what should i do in this situation ) Please Please guide me.

nothing to worry about if your background is fine, most probably your case is being checked for FBI name checks/background checks, etc.

It's true that it takes very long. just keep contacting the embassy people every month.

    good luck
