  • Filing I-130 for parents... Would my sibling under 21 be covered?

    Hi,

I am a US citizen planning to file I-130 to sponsor my parents for US immigration. Would my siblings that are under 21 years of age be covered in any way under the petition for my parents.

Please explain how this process works.

    Thanks in advance

No. Your siblings will not be able to come since they are not classified in the same category a parents and cannot tag along on their petition. You would file a seperate petitions; the delay depends on the country of chargability but can be close to 20 years. The best bet is for your siblings to obtain a student visas before you petition your parents and plan on using work visas to obtain a green cards.

      Hello,
I have been reading all I can find about issues like this, I am in this same situation. I would like to know if my parent after getting green card, can she apply for a minor child 15 years of age. What if the parent GC holder does not have sufficient income, can she get help from a joint sponsor?
I really need to know about this, I will appreciate any information about this issue.
      Thanks.
      Ros
