  • I-797C Rejection Notice

I just received a I-797C Notice of Action Rejection for the I-130 I had filed for my wife. It says that the form was submitted with extra remittance not required to process form or that the incorrect fee was submitted. No additional action is required.

Ok I was sure I had sent in the right amount. I sent in 355.00 dollar money order and thats the amount they said they received. I double checked the websites again today and they all say that is the correct amount. So what happened? Is there some other fee I do not know about? Or is it free or something? Please help...

    797 notice of rejection

Ex-tex, I am sorry to hear of your misfortune.Do you have the receipt for the money orde or did you make a copy of it for yourself? Did you submit all the required forms for the I-130 application? You may have to sent in a copy of everything to USCIS and have them investigate it for you. Good Luck.

Well they actually sent the entire packet back to me... all the originals and the original money order. So I have it all. And I doubled checked and triple checked everything. Completely at a loss as to how the amount was wrong. I'm gonna try and call them tomorrow.

But if anyone has any idea why the amount of 355.00 is incorrect please tell me. I'm really at a loss of what to do until I can find out what went wrong.
