I have questions regarding an overstay on a visa.
This was brought up to me by a friend of a friend who had known someone who came to the USA with the intentions to marry a woman here who is a US resident but from Libya I think. Apparently the woman refused to do his papers for him when he arrived in USA and never married him legally but only through their religious system. She got pregnant & had a baby and he is trying to support the baby by working but is just at constant threat of being deported and has no clue what to do to fix things.
Would marrying a US citizen at this point help him to stay in USA with all the problems already created on his overstay?
Thanks for helping to answer the questions.
