Re-entry and Medi-cal for mother

Hi Everyone,

My mother is 66 yrs old. She got her Green Card in January 2008. She entered USA in February 12,2008 and stayed in US till October 17th, 2008. She has gone to India and plans to stay there till February 22, 2009. That will be 4 months and 5 days.

My questions are
1) Will she have any issues when she returns back to the US? She will be entering the US via San Francisco.

2) She will be applying for Medi-Cal once she returns? Will she have any issues because she has stayed outside the country for this long(4 months and 5 days)?

Please advice as it is very important for her to get this Medi-Cal and she is just concerned that she may get rejected/become ineligible.

Could you please clarify why you said yes) to question 2. What are the requirements for Medi_cal? She is going to be applying as a fresh applicant?

How long can you stay outside the country?

I am sorry I do not have more information and whatever basic knowledge I have will not help you very well.

It'll be in your best interests to go through this link and find out.

I do know for sure that it's not an easy process and staying out of the country ensures a great delay in getting the benefits.
