  • Assignment to Antarctica - affect my petition?

I am a US citizen with a petition for my wife and step-daughter in process.
OK, here is my situation. I just got a job offer to Antarctica, a 9 month contract. Not my first choice to work, but in this tight economy, I cannot be picky. My legal domicile will still be the United States, I'll still be required to pay ,y state taxes as well as federal taxes. Unfortunately, for the duration of the assignment I will be required to stay in Antarctica. My plan would be for my wife and her daughter to stay with my father until I return.

Now, my questions are; will I still be allowed to continue my petition for them? If so, will this affect the outcome or the decision of the NVC?

Thanks to all who helped me.

    I don't think it would.

LOL, tell me about it, I was freezing just from filling out the application, hehe. I'm pretty sure it won't also, just want to get a feel from other people, thanks for your response.

Only problem would be if your family gets an interview call would you be able to travel to US to accompany them? That would make it more authentic to prove your marriage exists.
