GOT I -797, But the petitioner passed away

Hello,

My father had applied for my green card a few years ago. He passed away last year, in 2007. Last month, I got my approved I-797. One lawyer told me its useless now. Another one told me that it can be taken over by somebody else. My brother is also a US citizen and in great financial health. Please let me know if my brother can take over my application or if it is of no use anymore. I will appreciate a detailed response. I thank you in advance.

I don't know much but I have heard that once you get your approval letter a lawyer can help you indeed. Maybe haveyour brother take over the sponsership now that your father has passed. Check with several lawyers for more advice. Best of luck.
