  • Interview Notice (I-485)

I received a notice of action (I-797C) yesterday to appear for interview with regards to my I-485. I dont know if I'm reading too much into this as the heading says " request for applicant to appear for initial iterview". Why initial? Are there more interviews I should anticipate? The letter also does not mention my I-130. Is that a given since the forms are related?

Anyone gone through this process or have received similar letters, please clarify. I appreciate all help.

    Thanks.

There might be a second interview later when lifting the conditions of your conditional green card.
What do u need about I-130? It's your spouse's petition. Whenever it gets approved she/he'll get a letter. You don't have to worry about it. The interview is about your green card.

Thanks for your reply. I shouldn't be getting a conditional green card since our marraige is already over 3 years. Is there any other possible explanation? I was wondering what is typical language for these letters is? Please let me know if you are aware. Thanks.

It is just a standard letter. At the interview the officer will see you've been married over 2 years and they'll grant you your permanent green card. Don't worry if you have been married for 3 years! You got no problems!

We talking here people being in serious problems threatened with divorce within a few months after marriage, stuuf like that. You are good!

Thanks for your reassuring reply. I am hoping no trouble at the interview but its the USCIS after all! I have been on H1B (no breaks) for 6 years now and will run out in June. I kind of waited till the last moment to file my marraige based AOS and hence the unease.
Thanks again. Will post my experience after interview.
