Petitioner/sponsor: USC, currently in US, unemployed
Immigrant: has IV type IR-1 but still hasnt gone to US (therefore no GC yet)
married for over 4 years. not in great terms, but no abuse or crime to be reported.
there is a joint sponsor
questions:
1. is there a way for sponsor to stop the immigrant from going to the US?
2. is there a way for sponsor to cancel avidafit of support?
3. Can sponsor get unemployment benefits or gov support? (consider that there is also a joint sponsor)
4. if it says on visa (on passport) IR-1, that means the immigrant will get a 10 year GC. but why on the bottom it says
"upon endorcement serves as temporary I-551 evidencing permanent residence for 1 year"
- what is that 1 year period? temporary for what? until receving GC?
- what does the immigrant need to when arrive in the US, wait for green card and...? any more forms to fill out to get the 10 GC or will the immigrant receive it automatically?
