Want to know that is it possible and how long it takes?
    What is the procedure?

What are the documents required by us citizen? When do we get work permit and travel document? What about social secirity no.? will be required to take new ss# ? Same ss# to be given while applying and declare that a person is working in form I-130 and in interview ?
    Any chance of getting deported?

    Please reply at the earliest.

    Thank you.

      Don't stress out..

There is no problem for the spouse to sponsor you for a green card even if your visa expired long time ago. NOBODY WILL DEPORT YOU!
It doesn't take much time but it all depends where you live (what state); I did it in NJ and it took about 5 months.
You have to file couple of forms (I-485,I-130,I-765,G-325A for you and your spouse,I-864). You have to provide copies of your and your spouse's birth certificates, with translations (if that applies to you), copies of your passport and copy of the form I-94 that you got in your passport when you came to US, copy of your spouse's passport, copy of marriage certificate, your spouses tax returns for the past 3-5 years with copies of their W-2, copies of bank statements or credit card statements or bills that have both of your names on it; anything that proves that you're really married. Send it certified mail together with money order for all the forms you send (don't know how much it is right now but you can find the forms and the payment info on uscis.gov). Make sure you send it to the right processing center for the state you live in.
You don't need a new ss#, but if your ss card states not valid for work in the US, once you get the work permit you should go to ss office end get a new card, with the same ss# but without that statement.
First you'll get a notice that they got your application, then you'll have to go for pictures and fingerprints, then you'll propably get work permit, then you have to go for health check and vaccines (you'll have to pay extra for that), then you'll get the date for the interview that you have to go with your spouse and if you're approved, in couple of weeks from that date you'll get the green card in the mail. You'll get to travel abroad once you're approved for GC. GOOD LUCK!
