My attorney filed all necessary paperwork along with the request for an EAD in August. I received all notices except for the I-797 which contains the work permit card. My attorney received a notice that the I-797 was sent to me in November. The attorney advised me to make an Infopass appointment. I did and I was told to write a letter to the address on the I-797. Called USCIS and I was told not to send a letter. No one sounds like they know what to tell me. Do I have to pay the fee even though the fee was included in the I-485 fee?
So I went in for the interview on Feb 4, 2009. My husband got so nervous in the beginning that he forgot people's names. The marriage is real. I'm 7 months pregnant, we have plans for the future, living together with my mother, everything. He messed up the first questions but then the interviewer made me fill out a questionnaire and asked him questions from it. Surprisingly he got the majority of those questions right but the interviewer told us to come in for another interview the next month. I guess this is a fraud interview. Do I need to hire an attorney? We really cannot afford one right now. Is there any advice on what to expect.
