  • Time Frame Start - Finish I-130 3rd Preference

    Hi All,
Is there someone who can provide me with a accurate time frame from start to finish for this process. My mother (US Citizen) has filed the petition which was sent to the Chicago Lock Box in May 2008, I recieved the I-797 Notice of Action in June 2008. The petition has been approved and is now with the NVC in Portsmouth NH.

What and when is the next step?
    Any help would be appreciated.

now they will send the pititioner a letter and they will have to pay $70 and file affidevit of support. then you will also get a letter and have to pay $400. once all that is done and supporting forms are submited, you will get an interview.

I'm afraid that is not much help. I understand there is a backlog of such petitions and their website here
      http://www.immihelp.com/timings/tracking.jsp
indicates that they are dealing with petitions filed in June 2006. Is there any where I can get answers as to the estimated time to clear the backlog?

          Hi KK,

Not sure I can help at all. You are correct when asking if my mother has applied as a US Citizen for me under 3rd preference, but I do not know what "f2b" is and even if I did I don't know too much about this process. I am hoping someone here is able to provide me with answers.
          Sorry.
