F4 category substitute sponsor
Hi,
I wanted to know if I864 is required from the petitioner or can another person execute I864 for the immigrant visa beneficiary.
Immigration visa is F4 category visa applied by my uncle in 1982 for my father and his family (total family of four). Petition got matured in 1991. My father took immigration visa in 1993. Immigration to my sister was denied in 1994 because of her cerebral palsy medical condition. My whole family stayed in India while my father kept his GC alive by visiting US every year. My father passed away in 2003 and my paraplegic sister passed away last year. I had taken my immigration visa in 2001 as I was turning 21. I am a citizen now.
In Jan 2009 we contacted US Embassy to schedule appointment for the remaining applicant, my mother. Her interview is scheduled in the third week of march.
My uncle (petitioner) is still alive but has retired. I want to take responsibility of my mother.
Can I execute I864 in place of my uncle? If not, How can I be a substitute sponsor or joint sponsor?
