Relationship evidence for Parents Greencard application

Hi,

I got my citizenship last year (2008) and have applied for a greencard for my parents (a few months back). I got a response from INS asking me to send more evidene to support the relationship. This is due to the fact that my birth-certificate was taken late.

Question is...

Was anyone in a similar situation? If yes, what kind of documents do you think I should send to substantiate the relationship. I have the school and degree certificates etc which show my dad's name. Other than that, please suggest what all should I send them.

Also my mom's name is not really listed in any of the school documents. So whats the best to send to show as evidence for my mom.

Please advice. And also do let me know if I send the originals, how soon do you think I will get the originals back.

Delay Registration of birth Certificate

Possibly they are asking for Secondary evidence due to late registration of your Birth Certificate. For your Father SSC/Matriculatin Certificate where your name, Father's name and your Birth date is mentioned or Baptistic/Hospital Certificate which supports your & Father
s name and your date of birth. For your Mother if name and birth date not mentioned in any where may be supported by your Parent's (Father & Mother) Marriage Certificate along with SSC/Matriculatin Certificate where your name, Father's name and your Birth date is mentioned. You also can use your Family Photo with Mother & Father from chilhood to
leaving for USA along with their copy of Passport/Photo National ID/ Drving Licence to identify them in your sent photo. Possibly this will help your purpose.
