Living apart for job training before 'removing conditions' on green card

Unfortunately I have to live away from my husband and move to another state away from our permanent residence which we jointly own. I signed a 1 year lease and a 1 year contract for this job, and my permanent green card process/I-175 is due in Jan 2010.
I understand that I am required my law to let USCIS know about my change of residence, but is there a provision where they dont move my application to the state where I am going for 1 year( which may delay and create more confusion to them)?
Any advice is appreciated. Thanks!
