This is very good information thanks all for sharing. I had a question and seems someone from this Post will be able to help me. My parents had filed for me in 2010 during that period I was unmarried and I got married dec 2012. I checked the status on the file after a long time and I see it says that "On August 18, 2010, we mailed you a notice that we have approved this I130 IMMIGRANT PETITION FOR RELATIVE, FIANCE(E), OR ORPHAN".

I would like to know what does approval of I130 means and what are the next steps after that.

Moreover do I need to inform USCIS about my marital status and how to do it.

Thanks in advance for the suggestions and replies.

F2b - Unmarried Son/Daughter of Lawful Permanent Resident (greencard holder)
F1 - Unmarried Son/Daughter of US citizen
F3 - Married Son/Daughter of US citizen

Sorry to say but LPR's don't have the right to petition for married child(ren) or siblings. You will have to wait until atleast one of your parents naturalize (becomes a USC) before you can qualify to immigrate to the US. You need to ask your parents if either naturalized before you got married without your telling you.

Is your petitioner a US Citizen now ? If so, when did he/she naturalize ?

They are not citizens yet they will get their citizenship soon though.

Unfortunately your petition has become void since you got married before your petitioner became a USC. They have to file a new petition for you when they become USC.

Its great to see people sharing their experiences and information.

My own PD is November 2002. I am of Guyanese origin but living in the UK. We have already submitted the Affadavit of Support and DS-230 forms + fees etc and I guess awaiting medical and interview? Good luck to all.

october 2012 visa bulletin , only 7 days movement. Its really dissappointing

Thanks mtouch. Our actual PD is 4th November 2002. We submitted our AOS and DS230 forms in August 2011. That was fairly straight forward except a few of the income lines in the AOS didnt match the total which was a silly mistake on our part. They came straight back to us and we fixed and re-submitted within a few weeks.

Just seen the October bulletin - its unbelieveable.....just 7 days progress? It doesnt seem that they want to get past June do they? oh well...

Hi Mann421 - you must be very close to interview now - hope it comes soon. Can I ask when they notified you to do the medical exams? Just trying to understand when we can expect to hear about our medicals. Thanks and good luck.

they will ask for medicals in interview letter ,we will go for medical before 2 weeks from interview.
