Hello,
I have a question. I came over to the US on a travel visa and have overstayed my welcome for 7 months now. The reason being I have met someone, fallen in love and plan to marry. However, what I am unsure about is adjustment of status, i.e. green card application. We plan to wed soon (truthfully, at the courthouse, however have a proper ceremony with family in about a year - this is only because we are afraid I will be deported). Will I have a problem applying for the green card because I have overstayed my welcome or will that not be an issue? Like I mentioned earlier, I entered the US legally and ended up moving in with my future wife. We don't have any joint accounts, bills...etc yet.
thank you
