I am filling a green card for my father. My father came to US in 2001 on B1-B2 and filled for change of status as Investor visa. While he was here 911 occur, and Immigration came up with new law where all adult from certain age were required to register with Immigration. When my father went for registration he was detained but then released the same day on his on recognizance but his passport was ceased by officer. While his case was pending decision in Immigration he left the country in 2003 and notified the Immigration and requested Immigration to return his passport. All we ever found out from Immigration that was put on removal proceeding. Only letter we received from Immigration was that case was closed on June 18, 2003 since he had left the country but we don't know why he was put on such a proceeding.
Now my question is:
-Since I am filling for my father and form I-130 question is to specify if there ever been under immigration proceeding.? Should I say Yes?
-Will this make things more complicated? Will this cause a long delay for him to get his papers?
-Also on form I-130 question#10 is asking for Alien Registration number should I provide them with previous one or just leave that blank.
Any help in this matter will be greatly appreciated.
