Hello,
My wife( US citizen) and I (student visa holder) got married this week. My wife resides in Colorado and the school that I am attending is located in Utah. I do not with to take classes this semester which would result in termination of my immigration status. My wife and I are going to file I-130 and I-485 as soon as we fill it out and get all the info.
Since that may take some time, I am still afraid that I will lose my status if I am not in school. What do I do? Should I just go home and apply for an immigrant visa at the embassy instead of risking of losing my student status. I hope my question is somewhat understanable.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
