  • Form I-130 question D2, applying for brother

    Hi,

My brother is a US Citizen and is planning to apply for green card for me.
In form I-130 he is not sure what to mark for the following question (D2):

"Have you ever before filed a petition for this or any other alien?"

    Some more info:
    - A while back in 2001 he had applied for consular processing for his own green card and he and his wife had gone for the interview together at the US consulate.
    - He had applied for visitor visas for our parents which were approved again back in 2001.

Given the above can anyone please let me know what is answer should be for the above question.
    Thanks in advance.

ok to begin with visitor visas in general are filed by the person intending to visit the US. In this case your parents filed for their own visitor visa. The only possible thing your brother might have done is give a sponsorship letter or welcome letter stating that he is inviting your parents. In such a case the answer is "No your brother hasn't file any petition".
    Hope this helps.
