need help with AOS
I need help....I want to know what my chances are of getting my greencard....
I came here illegally in 92 and went back to Mexico in 99, for a job offer. A few weeks later, I decided to come back, so I entered legally with a visa in nov of 99. I had 3 daughters here in the states between 92 and 99. My brother, who is a citizen, applied for me with the 245i, I received an approval letter, but stated I was not eligible to apply for AOS at this time. That was in April 2009. I am now married, to a citizen, in September. My wife is going to petition for me, we went to see a lawyer. The lawyer said that because I left and came back my chances are very risky. She said if they find out, I can be banned for 10 years. We then had a friend who works for another lawyer and she said they only check back 5 years. I am only worried because I have 3 kids here and I have been paying child support since 2003. I have no police record and I never used my social security card when I was here from 92-99. I only used it starting my second time, when I entered with the visa. Should I go through with it? Please help!!! Thanks!!!
