I filed an appeal for a denied I-130 to the Board of Immigration Appeals(BIA) via the local DHS office. They didn't send me a receipt but they cashed the filing fee check. After 2 months when I called BIA, they hadn't received the Appeal and they advised me to go to the local office. So with infopass and with a copy of the bank image of the check they cashed, I went to the local office. The officer I talked to said "after the denial nothing in their records talks about an Appeal. But because they have cashed the check that means it was accepted". Then with further research on their system it showed that the whole file is at Chicago IL. Then I asked him how long it will take to move from Chicago to the BIA. Then he said "it'S NOT gonna GO there, it's in Chicago IL, just wait for a little while."
ANY IDEAS WHAT THIS MEANS OR WHAT TO EXPECT??????????? THANKS
