  • Status change to Married

I-130, My mom a US Citizen sponsor me as unmarried son in mid-2004.
I got married a year ago, i am Canadian Citizen living in Canada.
I recently received a letter from NVC stating that the immigrant visa petition filed in behalf of me has arrived at the NVC for processing, they want to verify my address on their file and i must pay the AOS fee, after i complete all the steps required i should be getting my immigrant visa to enter US within 6 month, but i got married a year ago, i shall inform them immediately that my Status has changed from single to married as to add my wives name, no kids yet, i would like to know how many more years my wife and i and future kids will be getting our Green Card ???, i am looking at the Visa Bulletin and says for this category that they are issuing visa for the year 2001, so do i have to wait until that Bulletin year reaches to mid-2004 when i applied at first ??? Waitting for your responce, Thank You.

Yep, you have to wait for your priority date to become current, as when you got married you application was downgraded to a lower category.

You really dont expect to get visa timeline information for your " future child(ren), right?

      Wait more

You will have to wait untill the pd becomes current that meanst it reaches mid 2004. With the speed it has been going , it will reach there in probably four to five years.

Thanks for your reply, i appreciate it, i don't have any kids but hopefully i will until my priority date reaches mid-2004, looking at the visa bulletin they are working on May 2001, i guess i have to wait 4 more years for that to happen and yes what happens to my kids ??, will they automatically be added to my wife and my name ?? will it delay the process ??
        Thanks
