Case transferred to National Benefits Center (Please help)

Hi,

My sister who is a US Citizen filled for me in Dec 2008. I received a case number and notice in 15 days.

Now after 1 year, this week I received a notice saying my case is transferred to NBC (National Benefits Center) because it has jurisdiction over my case.

What does this mean please help and advise.

Your case will stay at NBC for a few years. You can check the processing time for a "U.S citizen filing for a brother or a sister". It is normally about a 10-12 year wait. You can also check the monthly visa bulletin to see what month and year they are currently dealing with now for that category.
