    Hi,
I got my U.S. Citizenship last year.I am planning to apply Greencard for my siblings and parents.Could anyone please let me know how long will it take to get Greencard for siblings and for my parents if I apply in 2010. Will my parents get Greenvard before my siblings ?
    Thanks in advance,

    Hi.

First of all, congratulations on the getting your U.S. citizenship. As for your inquiry, it is very fact specific. What I can tell you for sure is that your parents are considered your immediate relatives. Therefore, if you file for them, assuming that there are no additional problems, they can get their greencard in approximately one year. As for your siblings, that all depends on how old they are and whether or not they are married. Siblings of U.S. citizens fall into a family based preference category. This means that after you file, a visa number has to become available before further processing can take place. It can take anywhere from 10-12 years for a visa number to become available. One option is to bring your parents over and then once they become citizens they can in turn file for the rest of the kids. Make sure to do all the math before deciding on any course of action. Good luck.
