I lived in the philippines. Our father applied for a petition for me and my sister under F2b. Our priority date is on november 2003. In 2007 my father suffered from a severe stroke and is now paralized, he is currently living in new jersey with my 3 younger brothers who's alternately taking care of him now. I'm afraid that his health as of today is deteriorating. Is it true that if the petitioner is gone, so is the petition? Is there any way that i can reinstate our petition. we have waited so long for this and as far as the visa bulletin goes it is still a long way to go.

That used to be the case. However, the law has recently changed as of last month where if the petitioner dies, petition can still continue.Immihelp Support
