Could someone explain the whole family based GC process?

Hi everyone,

I am a US citizen. I filed I-130 for my wife in India based on the excellent information at http://immihelp.comhttps://www.immih...sed-greencard/ but now I am getting confused.

I only filed the forms that were present in that page (basically, I-130 and supporting documents). Should I also have filed for I-485 for her? I filed 130 in late Sep.

It is hard to find, end to end, what the process looks like and what my next steps would be. Where can I find more information? What happens next for me and my wife? Right now, it is in review status but assuming all documents are present, what is next? Will she be contacted? Will I be contacted? If there is an interview, who will be informed about it?

After the I-130 is approved, will she be able to come to the United States or are there additional steps after that?

Thanks in advanced for the answers. As you can see, I had thought all along that I have done everything needed but I am confused and scared now.

I-485 is only for those who are already in the US.
