My husband intends to sponsor my green card application.
He wasn't employed in the past three years (he is a full-time student).
Our question is: In lieu of his tax returns/W2 forms (i.e. evidence of income), can we use his assets and my assets to count towards the required income?
The cash value of our two properties (which are currently in my name but we made joint investment) totals $250,000, which is way more than the required 125% poverty line $19,000x5=$95,000 (To be counted, the cash value of assets must equal five times the difference between the sponsor’s income and 125 percent of the poverty line for the indicated household size.”)
