  • Form I-864 - income requirement

Hi all - I am currently on H1B and going to submit marriage based green card through my wife who just got US naturalization last year. My wife has been on study leave recently and working part time, hence her income is not substantial for the past year. But our combined income is > 100k, my own income contributing the majority. As I understand, USCIS looks at the total household income and compares it to the federal poverty limits, am I ok in this regard or I should keep a joint sponsor or show additional assets from my wife's side?

Your (the intending immigrant's) income can be counted in the sponsor's household income, as long as you are working legally. So it should be more than enough.

This is my personal opinion and is not to be construed as legal advice.
