Waiting time for CR1 immigrant vsia interview at Bombay

Case history so far for our US citizen-based spousal immigrant visa:

• I130 filed in July, 2018
• I130 approved in March, 2019
• NVC started the process in early May.
• All fees paid, and all documents submitted in mid-May (AOS, civil docs, DS260, etc.)
• Biometrics, medical exam completed this week
• Awaiting for a visa interview date .....

Does anyone have any experience, or any links, to estimate (a) how long does NVC take to schedule the visa interview? (b) how far in advance is the Bombay consulate booked?

Nvc approved my documents yesterday and waiting to interview date to be schedule.
Can you do biometrics and medical before you get an interview?

Yes, biometric and medical can be done, before visa interview is scheduled, as long as DS 260 confirmation page has been generated.

parks thanks I didn’t know that. Can you tell me how my spouse can do that? She is in Gujarat India.

Contact VAC in Bombay, and Medical facility. They only need the DS260 confirmation page which you should have received on the NVC site.

parks thanks. When did you receive email from NVC saying they will schedule an interview?

They do not first send an email saying they will schedule an interview and then a second email MN saying here is the Interview date.

The very first email from them about interview will be the one with the scheduled dat .

If you have completed the DS260 form on CEAC website, then you would have a confirmation from that pag .

We had to resubmit 2 civil docs due to incorrect orientation.

Biometrics done, medical scheduled.

But, no update from NVC on acceptance of the updated document (certificate rotated by 90 degrees). No interview date yet..
CEAC website has no update. NVC
Phone number always busy.

I have not received interview date yet. My documents have been approved since May 22.
Whenever I call it’s always busy. Hoping to hear something soon

Nope, nothing from NVC about consular interview scheduling.

Now it is nearly 3 months since NVC has had the case, and 6 weeks since all documents were submitted and all fees were paid.

Same here. My case has been approved since May 22nd and it’s 5 weeks now. I have not heard about interview being scheduled. I don’t understand how come Bombay embassy don’t release any information. I was looking at Philippine embassy they show a record what cases they completed recently.
