Hello,
I am currently in the US on an F1 student visa, and applying for status adjustment and green card (my wife is a US citizen.)
I was thinking of sending in my application soon, but have to make a couple of trips outside the US during the summer. Since the wait is at least 6 months, I thought I could be back in the country before any interviews. But I am not sure whether this would jeopardize my green card application in any way.
I was told that green card applicants need to apply for travel permission of some sort in order to re-enter, but would I have to do this if I already have an F1 visa? I am also concerned that my re-entry date and I-94 number will be different from the one I sent in my application -- I don't know if this will be a problem.
Does anyone have any suggestions, or faced a similar situation?
Thank you,
BV
