Hello,

I applied to petition for my husband for an I-130, and at the time I had been with the current employer for 10 years. 2 months ago I was laid off due to lack of work. i am collecting unemployment until I can find another job but our marriage interview is a week away, will we be denied on this issue? Please, any answer will be greatly appreciated, I am crazy with worry right now. I am a US Citizen by birth and we have been married for almost 11 years.

If you are unable to show that you are working currently and have enough income to support your family, it would be hard for you to give affidavit of support. If you have other relatives, they can be joint sponsor.
