hello
i tried obtaining my mothers birth certificate from a small village in gujarat where she was born. as it turns out, her birth was registered but two things were wrong - it was registered for wrong date (diff in actual date and registered date is 4 days) and the registrar /whoever accepted and transcribed the application wrote absolutely wrong last name
from shah (actual) to patel (in the registration doc) - go figure.
now even if i accept a birth certificate from that authority, it is of no use since date is diff and last name is diff.
someone told me that i need to get affidavit done and send it in for gazette entry - whatever that means. however, how does this solve the issue of NVC needing a certificate?
pl. advice what should I do at this time now?
