  • Move adjustment of status from India to US

    Hi,

I had filed form i-130 for my parents with the intention of them receiving an immigrant visa and doing the adjustment
of status in India. The i-130 was approved but they have not yet been called in to receive the immigrant visa and since they have a
visitors visa, they want to travel to the US using that and then appear for the adjustment of status here.
    I have 2 questions regarding this --
    1. Is it ok for them to travel to the US on a visitors visa ?
    2. What is the process for me to let NVA/USCIS know that we don't need an immigrant visa and that we would like
to do the adjustment of status in the US ? I have tried to call the USCIS/NVA # several times but can not seem to get hold of a live person.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

First of all, lets get things clarified first. There is no adjustment of status outside the US. It is called consular processing or immigrant visa process.

    1. Yes.
    2. Read the last paragraph at /usa-immigrant-visa-process/
