Is it safe for me to Change my F1 status after I get the I-485 receipt to adjustment of visa status or would it be safe to stay in F1 status incase of application denial?

Actually you are no longer international student after applying greencard. How that possible you can still be under F-1? I wanted to do same thing but international office told me that I am no longer international student and I need to attend class as an out-of-state student until I qualify in-state tuition.
